Quality Healthcare and Comfort
Mexico is the home to a multitude of highly trained and experienced doctors, many of which have been educated and trained in Canada and the United States. Hospitals and clinics all across the country are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and modern facilities.
Patients stay in large private rooms with 24-hour care until it is time to move to their hotel for further recovery time. Many hotels in the vicinity of the hospitals are equipped to care for outpatients and understand the added service that a patient requires.
Mexico has nine hospitals that have been accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). Mexico has also developed an organization called Consejo de Salubridad General (CSG), or the General Health Council of Mexico, an office governed by the Mexican Ministry of Health.
The CSG was established to govern the hospitals of Mexico under the same international standards as those that hold JCI accreditation. Thus, many hospitals hold CSG Accreditation which marks them as a medical facility that upholds a high international standard.
Travel and Cost of Care
The proximity of Mexico to Canada makes it an ideal medical travel destination, with airline transportation time averaging only four to five hours from most Canadian city centres. Some of the finest hospitals in Mexico can be found in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Tijuana, Mexico City, Chihuahua, and Monterrey.
"I needed surgery on an old rotator cuff injury and I was going to have to wait nine months to have the surgery done. My business couldn't wait for my shoulder to get fixed.
Within weeks I was in Puerto Vallarta having my shoulder fixed. I had a great experience in a top notch hospital.
— Dan J., Saskatoon, SK
"I needed to get two dental implants done but it was going to cost me $9,000 and I couldn't afford it.
One trip to Cancun and all my dental work done by a friendly and professional dental team. Everything, including the travel, cost me a fraction of what it would have cost me at home. I recommend getting dental work in Mexico to everyone I know!
